Token Distribution
Starknet, an Ethereum layer-2 scaling project, is set to distribute over 700 million STRK tokens to nearly 1.3 million addresses starting February 20th. Eligible individuals and groups will have four months to claim their tokens. Unclaimed STRK will be distributed in future rounds.
Token Allocation
The tokens will be allocated to community members who have contributed to Starknet’s development, including users, developers, and contributors. StarkEx users, Ethereum protocol contributors and stakers, and developers of select non-crypto open-source projects are also eligible.
Starknet’s Technology
Starknet is a decentralized validity rollup, a type of solution that executes transactions outside of Ethereum’s blockchain but records the transactional data. ZK rollups, like Starknet, run computations off the chain and then submit a validity report.
Total Token Supply
Starknet plans to distribute 1.8 billion STRK tokens to the community in total. The tokens will be used for paying transaction fees, staking, and governance.
