A popular crypto analyst is predicting a massive surge in the crypto market, likening it to the Dot-com bubble of the late 1990s.
A Crypto Bubble on the Horizon?
Michaël van de Poppe, who boasts nearly 800,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter), is extremely optimistic about crypto’s future. He believes that increased institutional investment and widespread adoption are creating conditions similar to the Dot-com era, where internet companies saw massive valuations. He expects a “ballistic” rise, exceeding previous highs. He cautions that this is a cycle similar to the Dot-com bubble, where a lot of money flowed into the market, leading to potentially unsustainable growth. The Dot-com bubble ultimately burst in 2000, resulting in massive losses.
XRP and SEI: Analyst’s Top Picks
Van de Poppe highlights two specific cryptocurrencies he believes will benefit significantly from this predicted boom:
XRP’s Potential
He forecasts XRP, a payments-focused altcoin, will approach its all-time high of $3.40. He notes that XRP has already seen a 50% increase since he identified a key entry point around $1.75. At the time of this writing, XRP is trading at $2.52.
Sei (SEI): A Solana Rival
Van de Poppe is also bullish on Sei (SEI), a competitor to Solana. He predicts a potential 169% rally from current levels, with a first target of $0.30, followed by a potential rise to the $0.50-$0.70 range. Currently, SEI is trading at $0.26.
