Coinbase Analyst Predicts Crypto Boom in Late 2025

A top analyst at Coinbase is predicting good things for Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in the second half of 2025.

A Bullish Outlook

David Duong, Coinbase’s head of global research, believes the worst of the economic downturn is over. He’s sticking to his earlier prediction that crypto will hit new all-time highs by the end of 2025, despite a recent price bump. He thinks the positive trend will continue for the next few months. Duong attributes this optimism to the US government shifting towards more business-friendly policies and a new fiscal package expected by late summer.

Potential Roadblocks

However, Duong also points out a potential snag: government spending could drive up long-term US Treasury yields. This could make borrowing more expensive for businesses and consumers, potentially slowing economic growth and impacting the stock and credit markets. If investors lose confidence in the US government’s ability to manage its debt, things could get volatile.

Bitcoin as a Safe Haven?

In this scenario, Duong suggests that investors might flock to “store-of-value” assets like gold and Bitcoin, potentially benefiting them more than other cryptocurrencies (altcoins).
