Dencun Upgrade Expected to Boost Layer-2 Adoption
Guy Turner, the host of the Coin Bureau YouTube channel, is optimistic about the prospects of Ethereum (ETH) layer-2 projects. In a recent strategy session, Turner told his 2.41 million subscribers that the upcoming Dencun upgrade could lead to a surge in the value of layer-2 tokens.
The Dencun upgrade, scheduled for March, aims to reduce transaction costs and improve data availability on Ethereum. Turner believes that this will make layer-2 solutions more attractive to users, leading to increased adoption.
Turner’s Top Picks for Layer-2 Projects
Turner named four layer-2 projects that he believes are well-positioned to benefit from the Dencun upgrade:
- Arbitrum (ARB): Turner believes that Arbitrum could continue its recent upward momentum, as it is one of the most popular layer-2 solutions and is expected to benefit from the Dencun upgrade.
- Optimism (OP): Turner sees Optimism as having a lot of upside potential due to its aim to build a “superchain” ecosystem that promotes collaboration across multiple layer-2 solutions.
- Immutable X (IMX): Turner believes that Immutable X could become more popular in the GameFi industry, as it is a layer-2 solution that is specifically designed for gaming applications.
- Polygon (MATIC): Turner believes that Polygon could rise in value due to its own planned network upgrade called Polygon 2.0.
