Block’s Bitcoin Wallet Getting a Major Upgrade

Jack Dorsey’s Block is giving its Bitkey Bitcoin wallet a significant boost with several new features coming soon.

Enhanced Security and Privacy

The company announced plans to improve security and privacy, focusing on transaction verification, easier fingerprint resets, and hiding account balances and purchase information. A new transaction verification system is expected by mid-year, with options for even stronger verification using hardware and a cold wallet setup for extra security. A more secure fingerprint reset method is also on the way in May.

Privacy Focused Features

Big privacy improvements are in the works. Users will soon be able to keep their Bitcoin balances and transactions private, offering increased security and anonymity. Additionally, buying a Bitkey device will become more private, allowing users to avoid revealing their home address by picking up their order in person at various locations across the US. Buying Bitkey with Bitcoin will also be an option. These privacy features are slated to arrive around mid-year, shortly after the transaction verification update.

What’s Next?

Block is actively developing these features and plans to share a technical proposal for feedback in the coming months. The company is clearly committed to making Bitkey a safer and more private Bitcoin wallet for its users.
