A new paper from the European Central Bank (ECB) has sparked outrage in the Bitcoin community, with one veteran calling it a “declaration of war.”
ECB Paper Slams Bitcoin
The ECB paper claims that Bitcoin has strayed from its original vision and now exists solely to extract value from those who don’t own it. The authors even urge the public to pressure politicians into passing laws to “eliminate” Bitcoin.
Bitcoin Veteran Sounds the Alarm
Tuur Demeester, editor-in-chief of Bitcoin analysis firm Adamant Research, believes the ECB’s paper is a “luddite argument” that will be used to justify taxes and bans on Bitcoin.
“This is the most aggressive paper from authorities I’ve seen in years,” Demeester said. “It’s clear the ECB sees Bitcoin as an existential threat and will use any means to attack it. This is a major political fault line, and we need to take action to protect our right to own property.”
A Clash of Ideologies
Demeester sees this as a battle between those who believe in individual rights and those who support centralized control. He believes this is not a war between the rich and the poor, but a fight for the future of freedom and individual sovereignty.
“This is a historic clash between those who stand for individual rights and those who cling to failed ideologies of collectivism and central planning,” Demeester said.
