Trump Should Airdrop His Memecoin? A Tech Exec’s Idea

Balaji Srinivasan, a former Coinbase executive, thinks Donald Trump should give away his new “TRUMP” memecoin to his supporters. He believes this would create a stronger bond between Trump and his base.

The Alignment Problem

Srinivasan argues that there’s a disconnect between Trump and his supporters. He uses the analogy of a company CEO and employees all owning company stock – everyone’s interests are aligned. He suggests that a similar alignment could be achieved if Trump supporters all held the TRUMP coin, benefiting from its success.

Airdropping the Coin

Srinivasan proposes a solution: Trump should airdrop (give away) some TRUMP coins to his supporters. He even suggests a clever tactic: giving 72 hours’ notice of the airdrop, which might attract even non-supporters to sign up for Trump’s email list just to get the free coins.

A New Social Contract?

Srinivasan sees this airdrop as a “new kind of social contract” between a president and the people. He believes it would strengthen the relationship between Trump and his base.

Current TRUMP Coin Status

Currently, the TRUMP coin is trading around $34.98. While it’s seen a massive increase since its launch (over 434%), it’s also dropped more than 30% in the last 24 hours.
