An Ethereum (ETH) investor who hadn’t touched their coins for almost three years recently woke up to a massive fortune.
From Pennies to Millions
The investor, whose identity remains unknown, had bought 6,292 ETH back in 2014 during an ICO. This purchase cost them a mere $1,951. Fast forward to this weekend, and the same amount of ETH is now worth over $20 million! That’s a whopping 1,032,703% increase.
Big Whales on the Move
This isn’t the only big ETH movement happening. A giant whale, who once held a staggering $1.28 billion worth of ETH, has been selling off some of their holdings. They’ve sold 46,853 ETH since November 7th, bringing in $138.8 million.
However, other whales seem to be accumulating ETH. Four new wallets withdrew $40 million worth of ETH from Binance, the popular crypto exchange, on Sunday.
ETH on the Rise
ETH is currently trading at $3,316, up over 3.5% in the past day and a massive 37% in the past week. While this is a significant gain, it’s still over 32% down from its all-time high of $4,878, which it reached in November 2021.
