Shiba Inu’s Lead Developer Might Be Following in the Founder’s Footsteps

The Shiba Inu project has always been shrouded in mystery, with its founder, Ryoshi, remaining anonymous. Now, the lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, is hinting at a similar exit strategy.

A Tour and a Conference, Then Goodbye?

Kusama recently announced that he plans to step down from his role after completing a few key projects. These include:

  • The “Treat Yourself” Tour: The Shiba Inu team will be traveling to various locations, starting with Kyoto, Japan, to meet with the community. This tour is linked to the upcoming launch of the TREAT token.
  • SHIBACON 2024: This conference will be held in Thailand and will be the final stop on the “Treat Yourself” tour. It’s planned to coincide with DevCon.

Kusama believes that these projects will help solidify Shiba Inu as a self-sustaining, decentralized ecosystem, just as Ryoshi envisioned.

Following in Ryoshi’s Footsteps

Ryoshi’s disappearance from the Shiba Inu project was a surprise to many. He deleted all traces of his online presence and left a cryptic message: “I am not important, and one day I will be gone without notice. Take the SHIBA and journey upwards frens.”

This act echoes the disappearance of Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, who vanished after Bitcoin’s launch.

While Kusama’s departure might seem sudden, it aligns with the project’s core values of decentralization and community ownership. It’s a testament to the vision of a project that aims to be independent of any single individual.
