SEC Plans More Crypto Talks for 2025

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is adding four more roundtable discussions to its schedule for next year. These meetings will focus on crypto regulations.

More Crypto Chats on the Horizon

The discussions, planned for April through June 2025, will dive into important crypto topics. These include:

  • Crypto custody
  • Tokenizing real-world assets
  • Decentralized finance (DeFi)

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce, who heads the Crypto Task Force, says these roundtables are a chance to get experts talking about the challenges and potential solutions for crypto regulation.

A New Approach to Crypto Regulation

The SEC’s Crypto Task Force, launched earlier this year, brings together regulators, lawyers, and crypto industry leaders. The goal is to find effective ways to regulate crypto assets. Commissioner Peirce sees this task force as a fresh start for the SEC’s approach to cryptocurrencies, saying it’s already spurred significant internal discussion and collaboration. The upcoming roundtables will build on this momentum.
