Ripple is making major moves in the US! They’ve just gotten new Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) in New York and Texas, bringing their total to over 55. This shows they’re really growing and becoming a bigger player in the payments world.
Expanding Across the Globe
These new licenses mean Ripple can offer even better cross-border payment solutions. Basically, they can handle international transactions more smoothly and efficiently. A Ripple exec, Joanie Xie, said there’s a lot of interest from banks and crypto companies who want to use blockchain for faster, cheaper payments. Ripple’s experience in both the traditional finance and crypto worlds gives them a big advantage. They also have licenses and registrations in places like Singapore, Ireland, the Cayman Islands, and are working on getting one in Dubai.
Growing in the US Despite Challenges
Ripple has processed a whopping $70 billion in payments on its system, and they’ve doubled their North American customers in just one year. Even though they’ve had some legal battles with the SEC (the US Securities and Exchange Commission) over their XRP token, things are looking up. A recent court ruling was partially favorable, and a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment is helping.
Hiring Spree and Future Outlook
To take advantage of this positive shift, Ripple is hiring a lot more people in the US – about 75% of their open positions are now based here. While the price of XRP (their cryptocurrency) hasn’t hit a new all-time high, it’s still up significantly this year. Overall, Ripple seems to be in a strong position for continued growth.
