Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) is back! From April 9th to 12th, Decentraland will host its flagship virtual event, showcasing digital fashion as a powerful tool for storytelling, activism, and global identity. This year’s theme, “Infinite Identities,” reflects a shift in the fashion industry, moving away from traditional luxury and embracing evolving consumer preferences.
A New Runway for Global Voices
This year’s MVFW features over 47 designers and brands using digital mediums to push creative boundaries and express diverse cultural identities. Decentraland 2.0’s improved platform offers a more immersive and accessible experience for both attendees and creators. Interactive Showrooms: Fashion as Storytelling
MVFW 2025 features 16 interactive designer showrooms, divided into two zones:
Augmented Self:
This zone showcases innovative uses of AI, AR, and “phygital” (physical-digital) fashion, featuring:
- AI-driven styling
- AR-enhanced virtual fashion
- NFT-powered wearables
- Microchip manicure technology
Storied Self:
This zone focuses on fashion as cultural storytelling, highlighting global narratives and identity-driven collections, including:
- Adaptive fashion for prosthetics
- Mycelium-inspired digital wearables
- Culturally resonant digital storytelling
Beyond the Runway: Immersive Experiences and Discussions
MVFW 2025 offers more than just fashion shows. Attendees can explore:
