JPMorgan Chase Customers Caught in ATM Scam

People are trying to pull off a scam involving JPMorgan Chase ATMs, and it’s not going well.

The Scam:

The scam involves depositing fake checks into Chase ATMs. The ATM system seems to credit the account with the fake check amount, allowing customers to withdraw some of the money. But it’s not a glitch, it’s straight-up check fraud.

The Consequences:

Chase is already putting account balances in the negative for people who try this. And it’s not just a matter of a negative balance. This is a serious crime that could lead to charges of bank fraud, wire fraud, and other offenses.

Not the First Time:

This isn’t the first time people have tried to exploit ATM systems. Last year, there were similar incidents at NatWest bank in London and Bank of Ireland. In both cases, customers were able to withdraw more money than they had in their accounts due to glitches.

Important Reminder:

Don’t try to pull off this scam. It’s not worth the risk. If you see someone trying to do this, report it to the bank or the authorities.
