JPMorgan Chase Accused of Leaking Sensitive Customer Data to Facebook

Allegations

A class-action lawsuit has been filed against JPMorgan Chase, accusing the bank of illegally sharing sensitive customer information with Facebook. The complaint alleges that Chase installed a Facebook tracking pixel on its website that collected and transmitted social security numbers, names, birthdates, phone numbers, addresses, and financial information from customers who applied for credit cards or home loans.

Legal Violations

The lawsuit claims that Chase violated the California Invasion of Privacy Act by intercepting and reading electronic communications without the consent of customers. The complaint also alleges that Facebook knowingly and intentionally read and learned the contents of these communications without authorization.

Requests for Relief

On behalf of the class members, the plaintiff is seeking statutory damages, punitive damages, and prejudgment interest. Chase has not yet commented on the allegations.
