A new program in Georgia is giving away thousands of dollars to young adults. The Georgia Resilience & Opportunity (GRO) Fund is launching “Freedom Futures,” a guaranteed income pilot program.
Who’s Eligible?
To qualify, you must:
- Be between 18 and 25 years old.
- Be enrolled in high school or a participating college.
- Have a household income at or below double the federal poverty level.
What You Get
Selected participants will receive a monthly payment of $500 for four years—a total of $24,000. That’s not all! After the first two years, participants also get access to over $20,000 in investment capital. This money can be used for things like buying a home, starting a business, furthering education, or investing in retirement. To get the investment capital, you’ll need to complete some financial education courses.
How to Apply
The application deadline is August 27th. You’ll need to provide things like proof of ID and income. If you’re chosen, your first payment will arrive in September 2025.
