Dormant Bitcoin Whale Stirs After Decade, Transfers Millions

A Bitcoin whale that had been inactive for a decade has suddenly come to life, transferring a massive amount of cryptocurrency.

Dormant Whale Awakens

The whale, whose address begins with “1CLx,” first purchased Bitcoin when it was trading at less than $30. After 10 years of inactivity, it has now transferred 246 BTC (approximately $16.73 million).

Whale’s Impressive Return

The whale’s initial investment of 4,272 BTC in 2013, which cost an average of $29.39 per coin, has now skyrocketed in value. With Bitcoin currently trading at $69,835, the whale has seen a staggering 237,514% return on investment.

New Whale Accumulates Bitcoin

Another whale has been actively accumulating Bitcoin since March. The address “bc1qag” has acquired over 1,308 BTC, worth approximately $90 million. Its most recent purchase was 113 BTC from Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Other Dormant Whales Emerge

Lookonchain, a blockchain tracking firm, has also reported that another dormant whale recently transferred over $74.3 million in Bitcoin to Binance after being inactive for eight months. The whale still holds $597.55 million worth of BTC.
