Dark Web Drug Market Owner Nabbed

US authorities have arrested the alleged mastermind behind a major dark web marketplace that facilitated the anonymous sale of illegal drugs.

Arrest Details

Rui-siang Lin, 23, from Taiwan, was arrested at John F. Kennedy Airport on May 18th. He is accused of owning and operating Incognito Market under the alias “Pharoah” or “Faro.”

Incognito Market’s Operations

Incognito Market operated from October 2020 to March 2024, selling over $100 million worth of illegal drugs and fraudulent prescription medication. Users from around the world reportedly used cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Monero for transactions.

Lin’s Alleged Role

Lin is said to have had complete control over Incognito’s operations, including decision-making, vendor management, and customer interactions. He allegedly profited significantly from the marketplace’s activities.

  • Engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise
  • Narcotics conspiracy
  • Money laundering
