The next US presidential election is just around the corner, and it seems like crypto is becoming a major talking point for voters. A recent survey found that most crypto owners are planning to vote, and many of them are looking for candidates who are pro-crypto.
Crypto Awareness is Growing Among Voters
This survey, conducted by Consensys, shows that crypto is becoming increasingly important to young voters. The study found that 92% of US crypto owners plan to vote in the upcoming election. That’s a huge number, and it’s more than the margin of victory in the last election in every state the study looked at.
The survey also found that a lot of voters are looking for candidates who will support crypto. Almost half of the voters said that a pro-crypto stance is important to them. What’s even more interesting is that 40% of voters said they might switch parties if a candidate supports crypto.
Voters Want More Crypto-Friendly Policies
Many voters believe that the US government is lagging behind other countries when it comes to crypto regulations. They think the government isn’t doing enough to encourage the growth of the crypto industry. This is especially true considering the SEC’s history of cracking down on crypto.
Crypto’s Influence is Growing
The crypto industry has grown a lot since the last presidential election. As more and more people invest in crypto, it’s likely to become an even bigger issue in political campaigns. The survey found that 19% of US voters already own crypto, and that number is expected to grow in the coming years. One in three voters said they’re likely to invest in crypto in the next year.
Bitcoin is Still King
Bitcoin is still the most popular crypto asset, with 13% of US voters owning it.
Divided Opinions on Political Parties
Voters are split on which political party is better equipped to handle crypto. About 35% trust the Republican party, while 32% trust the Democratic party. The rest are still undecided.
Trump and Harris Need to Get Clear on Crypto
The survey also found that 56% of voters are happy with Donald Trump’s recent pro-crypto stance. However, 54% think Kamala Harris needs to be more clear about her plans for crypto. 33% of voters said they’d be more likely to vote for Harris if she took a pro-crypto stance.
