Billionaire Mark Cuban, known for his role on the show “Shark Tank,” is throwing his support behind Vice President Kamala Harris for the upcoming US Presidential election.
Crypto and Regulation Take Center Stage
Cuban spoke at a virtual event called “Crypto4Harris,” which aims to rally support for Harris while also urging her administration to ease up on its crackdown on the cryptocurrency industry. He introduced Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer, who spoke about the need for sensible regulation of the growing crypto space.
Schumer: Crypto is Key for US Innovation
Schumer believes that the US can’t afford to ignore crypto, as it’s becoming increasingly popular. He estimates that 20% of Americans are already using crypto, and that number is only going to grow.
“We need to make sure any regulation is bipartisan and helps the US stay at the forefront of innovation,” Schumer said. He wants to see legislation passed by the end of the year to keep crypto from moving overseas.
