Coinbase, a major US cryptocurrency exchange, added support for a new token called Wayfinder (PROMPT) on Thursday. This token powers a new tool designed to help artificial intelligence interact with blockchains.
What is Wayfinder?
Wayfinder describes itself as an omni-chain tool that bridges the gap between AI and blockchain technology. It’s designed to be used in blockchain-based games and to offer broader AI capabilities to developers and everyday users. The technology uses “wayfinding paths” – essentially instructions – to guide AI agents through different blockchains to reach specific destinations, like decentralized exchanges or marketplaces. One of the first games to use Wayfinder is Parallel Studios’ Colony.
A Rocky Start for PROMPT
Unfortunately, PROMPT’s debut wasn’t stellar. The token’s price dropped over 27% on its first day of trading. Coinbase labeled PROMPT as “experimental,” a designation it uses for tokens with higher risk due to factors like potential price volatility and low trading volume.
