Cardano’s Midnight project, focused on creating super-private sidechains, just joined forces with blockchain security giant OpenZeppelin. This partnership is all about making it easier to build apps that keep user data safe and secure.
A Powerful Partnership
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, is stoked about this collaboration. The goal is to give developers awesome tools and clear guidelines for building privacy-focused apps that work across different blockchains. OpenZeppelin will be creating a special library of smart contracts, setting new standards, and even providing sample apps to get developers started quickly.
OpenZeppelin’s Role
OpenZeppelin is a big name in blockchain security, having helped secure trillions of dollars worth of transactions. They’ll be adapting their expertise to work with Midnight’s unique privacy features. This includes creating Compact-compatible versions of popular ERC standards (like ERC20, ERC721, etc.) They’re also building a bunch of ready-to-use apps showcasing best practices for DeFi, NFTs, and more. This will help developers, both new and experienced, build secure and private applications easily.
Midnight’s Vision
Midnight’s focus is on data protection, and they want to bring that to the whole blockchain world. By combining their zero-knowledge tech with OpenZeppelin’s security, developers on any network can add privacy features to their apps without sacrificing security or ease of use. Midnight’s CEO, Eran Barak, sees privacy as crucial for innovation in areas like DeFi, real-world asset tokenization, and gaming.
Looking Ahead
This exciting partnership will be discussed in more detail at ETHDenver on February 28th. There will be a fireside chat with representatives from both OpenZeppelin and Midnight. At the time of writing, Cardano (ADA) was trading at $0.66.
