A JPMorgan Chase customer in Brooklyn was robbed of $300,000 just after withdrawing the cash from a bank branch.
The Incident
The 31-year-old customer withdrew the large sum from a teller and was robbed as soon as he exited the bank’s front door, according to News 12.
Suspect Description
Police say the suspect “forcibly removed” the cash from the customer and fled on a scooter. The NYPD has released security footage of the alleged robber.
Bank Response
Chase has not commented on the incident or whether the victim will be reimbursed. The customer has also not made any public statements.
Safety Concerns
Last year, Chase implemented new safety measures in New York City due to rising crime. This included closing ATMs in certain areas by 6:00 p.m.
