Two lesser-known cryptocurrencies, Across (ACX) and Orca (ORCA), saw massive price jumps after being listed on Binance, the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchange.
A Huge Price Surge
The listing on Friday, July 28th, sent both tokens skyrocketing. ACX climbed nearly 88%, while ORCA jumped almost 80%. According to CoinGecko, these were the biggest gains among the top 1000 cryptocurrencies by market cap that day.
What are ACX and ORCA?
Across (ACX) describes itself as a new approach to cross-chain transactions, focusing on user-specified outcomes rather than complex technical paths. Orca (ORCA), built on the Solana blockchain, aims to be a user-friendly decentralized exchange (DEX) for both traders and liquidity providers.
Binance’s Seed Tag Warning
Binance has labeled both ACX and ORCA with “seed tags,” a designation for lower-liquidity projects that may be more volatile. Binance requires users holding seed-tagged assets to complete risk assessment quizzes every three months.
Current Prices
At the time of writing, ACX, ranked 244th by market cap, is trading at $1.07. ORCA, ranked 282nd, is trading at $6.98.
