Billionaire Bitcoin Whale Makes Another Huge Move

A mysterious Bitcoin whale, inactive for 14 years, is back in the news, making another massive Bitcoin transfer.

The Whale Awakens Again

Earlier this month, two Bitcoin wallets, each holding 10,000 BTC, were emptied within minutes of each other. These wallets hadn’t seen activity since April 2011, when Bitcoin was worth just $0.78. Last week, speculation arose that the move might be linked to a hack, after a test transaction on the Bitcoin Cash network was detected from one of the wallets shortly before the main transfer.

Nearly $5 Billion in BTC Moved

Now, crypto analyst Satoshi Stacker reports that one of the whales has moved another 40,000 BTC – roughly $4.7 billion – to new wallets. A significant portion of this, around $2 billion, has already been sent to centralized exchanges, likely to be sold.

Dusting Attacks and Satoshi Speculation

While dormant for years, these wallets received tiny amounts of Bitcoin over time. These small transactions, known as “dusting attacks,” are often used to identify the owners of wallets. The sudden activity of these long-dormant wallets has fueled speculation, as they could potentially be linked to the mysterious creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto.

Bitcoin’s Current State

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $117,195, down 2.2% for the day.
