Winklevoss Twins Back Pro-XRP Lawyer in Fight Against Warren

The Winklevoss twins, known for their involvement in the crypto world, have thrown their support behind John Deaton, a lawyer who’s been a vocal advocate for XRP. They’ve donated a total of $1 million to Deaton’s campaign to unseat Senator Elizabeth Warren.

Why the Winklevoss Twins are Backing Deaton

Tyler Winklevoss described Senator Warren as the “public enemy number one” for the crypto community, accusing her of leading a “war on crypto” through aggressive regulations. He claims that Warren has been pushing for stricter regulations on crypto since the 2020 presidential campaign, using her influence to control regulatory agencies.

He specifically criticizes Warren for her influence on Gary Gensler, the chairman of the SEC, and Martin Gruenberg, the chairman of the FDIC, calling them “lap dogs and attack dogs” who carry out Warren’s anti-crypto agenda.

Tyler contrasts Warren’s approach with Deaton’s pro-crypto and pro-business stance. He believes Deaton, with his military service and legal defense of the crypto industry, embodies the values needed to support innovation and economic growth in America.

Cameron Winklevoss echoed his brother’s sentiments, emphasizing the need to support Deaton to bring about change in the Senate and end what he calls “Elizabeth Warren’s war on crypto.”

The Winklevoss twins’ support for Deaton highlights the growing tension between the crypto community and some lawmakers who are pushing for stricter regulations.
