EVM Compatibility on XRPL
RippleX has launched an XRPL EVM sidechain, bringing Ethereum Virtual Machine compatibility to the XRP Ledger. This allows developers to use Ethereum tools and DApps on XRPL, expanding its ecosystem and utility.
Axelar Bridge
The sidechain uses Axelar as a bridge, allowing seamless asset transfers between XRPL and the EVM sidechain. Axelar’s decentralized network of validators ensures security and reliability.
Simplified User Experience
Axelar’s integration simplifies the user experience by using a single bridge for all XRPL to EVM transfers, making it more intuitive and user-friendly.
XLS-38 and Community Feedback
The XLS-38 proposal remains important for enabling custom sidechains on XRPL. Ripple’s UNL validator will vote “No” until further validation and community feedback are received.
Ongoing Development
Over the next 12-15 months, Ripple will gather community input and adoption metrics to refine and expand the EVM sidechain’s functionalities, ensuring it meets user needs.
