Companies and ETFs snapped up a massive amount of Bitcoin in the second quarter of 2025.
Billions in Bitcoin Bought
According to analyst Adam Kobeissi, public companies and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) purchased a combined $26.5 billion worth of Bitcoin (BTC) between April and June 2025. That’s 242,766 BTC! Companies alone bought 131,355 BTC, an 18% increase in their holdings, while ETFs added 111,411 BTC (an 8% increase). This continues a trend of companies buying more Bitcoin than ETFs. Currently, public companies hold roughly 855,000 BTC, about 4% of the total supply. Kobeissi described the corporate demand as “incredibly strong.”
A Warning Sign?
However, not everyone is celebrating. Crypto trader DonAlt sees this massive buying as a potential bubble, warning that this kind of accumulation usually doesn’t end well for Bitcoin. While acknowledging the potential for short-term gains, he cautions investors to be prepared for a quick exit strategy.
Bitcoin’s Current Price
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $108,773.
