Pi Network’s Big Pi2Day 2025 Update: AI App Builder and More!

Pi Network celebrated its annual Pi2Day on June 28th, 2025, with some major announcements for its growing Web3 ecosystem. The updates focus on making it easier for anyone to build and use decentralized apps.

Building Apps Made Easy: Introducing Pi App Studio

The star of the show is Pi App Studio, a new, AI-powered platform for creating apps. Even if you’re not a programmer, you can use this no-code tool to build your own apps within the Pi Network ecosystem.

This is a big deal for a few reasons:

  • AI for Everyone: Pi App Studio leverages the power of AI to guide users through the app creation process, making it accessible to a much wider audience.
  • A New Economic Model: Pi Network is experimenting with a model that blends human creativity with AI, aiming for a sustainable future where both can thrive.
  • Scaling App Development: The platform significantly lowers the cost and time required to build apps compared to traditional methods. The initial version lets users build AI chatbots or other types of apps without writing any code. More app types will be added later.

Chengdiao Fan, Head of Product at Pi Network, explained that the goal is to use technology to solve real-world problems. Pi App Studio is a key step towards that vision, enabling more people to create useful apps.

Boost Your App: Ecosystem Directory Staking

Pi Network also launched Ecosystem Directory Staking. This lets users and businesses stake Pi tokens to improve the ranking of their apps within the Pi ecosystem. Higher rankings mean more visibility for your app. This is a community-driven approach to app discovery, unlike traditional app store rankings controlled by algorithms or advertising.

Other Exciting Updates

Besides the major announcements, Pi Network also rolled out several other improvements:

  • Easier Onboarding: Integration with Onramper makes it simpler for users to add Pi to their wallets.
  • Mainnet Migration: More users are now eligible to migrate to the Pi mainnet.
  • Node Updates: The Pi Node app got a refresh (now called “Node Desktop”), including improved security and a new ranking page.
  • .pi Domain Extension: The deadline for the .pi domain auction has been extended to September 30th, 2025, to give app developers more time to secure domains.
  • Ecosystem Challenge: A fun in-app challenge with rewards is running until July 7th, 2025.

These updates highlight Pi Network’s commitment to building a user-friendly, scalable, and community-focused Web3 ecosystem.
