Maryland authorities have busted a major robbery ring targeting customers of several big banks. Seven people have been indicted so far.
A Violent Crime Spree
Two criminal groups allegedly followed customers leaving Bank of America, Capital One, Wells Fargo, and Navy Federal Credit Union branches. The robbers would then ambush their victims at their homes or businesses. In one particularly brazen incident, they even rammed a victim’s car to stop them.
The Scale of the Crime
Between August 2023 and July 2024, the groups hit 34 victims across five Maryland counties, stealing over $155,000. The charges against the suspects include attempted murder, armed carjacking, armed robbery, assault, and firearms offenses.
The Aftermath
The investigation resulted in multiple arrests and indictments. The accused face serious penalties for their alleged crimes.
