A popular cryptocurrency trader, known as Altcoin Sherpa, is sounding the alarm on several big-name memecoins. He’s shared his bearish outlook with his over 200,000 followers on X.
Memecoin Concerns
Sherpa points out that Pepe (PEPE), Bonk (BONK), and Dogwifhat (WIF) are showing signs of weakness on their price charts – lower highs and lower lows. While he thinks these coins could still rally, he doesn’t expect them to dominate the market like they did earlier this year. He specifically notes that Pepe has held up better than Bonk and WIF, possibly due to the performance of Ethereum (ETH) compared to Solana (SOL). He’s cautious about their future strength.
- PEPE: Currently trading at $0.0000169, down 3.5% in the last 24 hours.
- BONK: Currently trading at $0.0000264, down 2.5% in the last 24 hours.
- WIF: Currently trading at $1.49, down 2.9% in the last 24 hours.
Dogecoin and Popcat Predictions
Sherpa also offered his take on Dogecoin (DOGE) and Popcat (POPCAT).
Dogecoin (DOGE)
He believes Dogecoin might make a significant move when other altcoins do, but he’s unsure if it will lead the market like it did in early November. He suggests it’s a potentially good buy, but advises patience. DOGE is currently trading at $0.33, up 1.1% in the last 24 hours.
Popcat (POPCAT)
Regarding Popcat, Sherpa thinks it might be nearing a bottom after a significant price drop (75%). He’s even considering buying it, suggesting that “cat” coins might catch up to “dog” coins later. POPCAT is currently trading at $0.55, down 2.6% in the last 24 hours.
