Litecoin’s Steady Climb: More Users, More Activity

Litecoin’s daily active addresses—the number of unique addresses making transactions—have seen a nice boost in 2024.

A Year of Growth

According to IntoTheBlock, Litecoin’s daily active addresses are up compared to last year. This means more people are using the Litecoin network. While the number of daily active addresses fluctuates, the average for 2024 is around 401,000, which is about 10% higher than the 2023 average of 366,000. It’s important to note that this is significantly lower than the peak of 1.37 million in January, but still represents positive growth.

Why the Increase?

Litecoin’s historically low transaction fees and fast transaction speeds are likely attracting users. This makes it a practical choice for everyday payments. Additionally, miners are investing more in the network, as shown by the rising Litecoin hashrate (a measure of mining power).

Price Action

While Litecoin’s price has seen some ups and downs (dropping to around $86 recently, but recovering to around $110), the increased user activity and miner confidence could be positive signs for the future. The higher number of active users generally suggests growing interest in the cryptocurrency, which could potentially lead to price increases.
