A former senior vice president at Oklahoma’s BOK Financial Securities is accused of stealing millions from customer accounts over more than a decade.
An 11-Year Scheme
William Shane Garrow, fired earlier this year, allegedly embezzled $4,277,227 from at least 16 customers between September 2012 and April 2024. He allegedly moved the money to his own accounts at other banks. The scheme involved secretly transferring cash and writing fraudulent checks payable to himself. If customers noticed missing funds, Garrow reportedly claimed it was a simple error that BOK would fix.
The Charges
Garrow faces one count of bank fraud and another for filing a false tax return. Federal prosecutors say he knowingly defrauded the bank and stole customer money.
BOK’s Response
BOK Financial stated that they fired Garrow after discovering his actions and have fully cooperated with law enforcement. They claim the affected customers have been compensated.
