JPMorgan Chase Won’t Refund Customer’s $7,000 Loss

A New York man is battling JPMorgan Chase after $7,000 vanished from his bank account. He says the bank refuses to reimburse him, even after more than a year of fighting the issue.

ATM Skimming and a Las Vegas Mystery

Grant Holihan suspects his debit card was skimmed at an ATM in Queens. Shortly after using the ATM, he received alerts about unauthorized purchases in Las Vegas. He immediately closed the account, thinking that would solve the problem.

Pennsylvania Supermarket Spree

However, more charges appeared – this time from multiple Giant supermarkets in Pennsylvania. These charges totaled over $7,000 and completely wiped out his savings. Holihan insists he was in New York at the time of the fraudulent transactions.

Chase’s Stance

JPMorgan Chase claims the Pennsylvania purchases were authorized, verified by phone, and therefore they won’t issue a refund. They maintain that the customer’s PIN was used for each transaction.

A Fight for Savings

Holihan is frustrated. He argues that the amount, while insignificant to the bank, represented his entire life savings. He simply wants JPMorgan Chase to take responsibility and return his money. He feels the bank should stand by its customers in situations like this.
